Choosing gear

Which Strongarm glove fits your work?

Compare four constructions by palm material, lining, reinforcement and cuff—not just the name.

Start with the task

Everyday handling and welding call for different questions. Consider the work, required protection, fit and tool control first. Then compare the exact product construction and documentation; a material name alone does not establish suitability.

Rockstar OG-1: everyday handling

The SAW2123 uses supple goat grain leather, a keystone thumb and an elastic wrist. It is the everyday-handling option in this comparison. Choose the size and single-pair, three-pair or twelve-pair pack that fits your needs. Do not assume that a driver glove has the protection of a purpose-designed welding glove.

TIG Spider and Free-Finger: compare the details

TIG Spider RM-02 / SAW1464 combines cow grain with split-leather reinforcement at the palm, index finger and thumb, with a 10-inch overall length. Free-Finger RM-01 / SAW1611 adds cotton lining and foam rest patches. Its finger opening is for adjustments between tasks; restore full coverage before welding.

Destroyer: a different build

SAW4660 uses FR split cowhide, an aluminized inner barrier and FR cotton lining, with a 14-inch overall length. Compare that construction with the other gloves rather than treating them as interchangeable.

Before adding to your bag

Check the selected size, cuff overlap, lining and exact article number. If you need a particular performance rating, ask for documentation for that specific model.

Materials & construction

Leather or FR cotton? Compare the two stocked jackets.

Arc-01 and BC-King offer different constructions. Here is what changes in the material, fit and details.

Compare the complete jacket

Start with your work requirements, then compare the shell, interior, coverage, movement and closures. Neither “leather” nor “FR cotton” on its own tells you everything about a finished garment.

Arc-01: a flexible cotton construction

The Arc-01 uses 9 oz FR cotton in a 30-inch jacket. A standing collar, adjustable cuffs, inside pocket and arm pocket are part of the stocked design. Check your size and allow room for layers and a comfortable reaching motion.

BC-King: grain leather and utility details

BC-King uses FR cow-grain leather with a pleated expansion panel through the upper body. Six utility pockets, a corduroy collar, satin lining, Kevlar seams and FR cotton inner cuffs complete the build.

Fit matters in the working position

Check the jacket while reaching and bending, including how the cuff meets your glove. Ask for model-specific measurements if you are unsure; do not assume the same labelled size fits identically across different constructions.

Keep material and garment claims separate

Fabric test values do not automatically rate a complete jacket. Use the exact product label and documentation when checking your workplace requirements. Follow the garment’s own care instructions.

Choosing gear

Choose your apron: length, material and pocket layout.

A straightforward comparison of the three stocked aprons, from a longer leather panel to flexible FR cotton.

Begin with coverage and movement

An apron provides front coverage; it is not a substitute for every other item of required PPE. Check the dimensions against your own working position and consider the complete clothing system your task requires.

OG-2: the longer leather option

Professional OG-2 / AW-OFR-ADA1 is 24 inches wide and 42 inches long. FR split cowhide, two front pockets, adjustable cross-back straps, buckles and Kevlar stitching make up its construction.

Basic 101: more tool storage

Basic 101 / AW-OFR-ADA2 is 24 by 36 inches, with seven front pockets. It uses FR split cowhide, Kevlar stitching and an adjustable cross-back fit. Choose it for its specific size and storage layout, rather than assuming more pockets mean more protection.

X-Tech BF-1: the cotton option

AW-BLFR9-AS36 is a 24-by-36-inch apron in blue 9 oz FR cotton. The X-Tech cross-back straps and grommet adjustment provide a different fit and material feel from the two leather options.

Check before ordering

Confirm length, material, adjustment and the exact article number. Wholesale aprons are ordered in full-carton multiples: 20 pieces per carton for either leather apron and 50 pieces per carton for the FR cotton apron. Each carton contains one SKU.

Fit & care

18 or 21 inches? Check sleeve length and glove overlap.

Choose the sleeve construction, then check coverage while reaching and bending.

Length is only the starting point

Sleeves and gloves need to work together as your arm moves. Compare the listed sleeve length, the glove cuff and how the sleeve sits on your arm. Do not choose from length alone.

The four stocked sleeve styles

Green FR cotton is available in 18- and 21-inch lengths. Blue FR cotton is 18 inches. The 18-inch hybrid sleeve combines FR cow split leather at the front with 9 oz FR cotton at the back and Kevlar stitching between the panels.

Check the fit in motion

With the gear positioned as intended, check overlap while reaching and bending. Check that the elastic ends stay positioned without making movement uncomfortable. Ask Strongarm for product-specific fit guidance if you are uncertain.

Know what the pack contains

Sleeves are sold as pairs: two sleeves. Selected green 18-inch variants include a three-pair pack. Read the complete variant label so that the quantity in your bag matches the number of pairs you need.

Inspect and follow the label

Check seams, elastic and the working surfaces before use. Follow the care instructions on the specific product, particularly on hybrid sleeves that combine leather and fabric.

Fit & care

Care starts with the label on your gear.

A practical routine for checking your product, finding the right instructions and asking useful care questions.

Find the exact model first

Keep the article number and care label with your product information. A leather jacket, an FR cotton jacket and a hybrid sleeve do not necessarily share cleaning instructions, even when they carry the same brand.

Inspect before use

Look for damage to the material, stitching, straps, closures and other working parts. Follow your workplace inspection and replacement procedures. If the product is damaged or its condition is uncertain, resolve that before putting it back into service.

Avoid a one-method-fits-all routine

Follow the specific item’s cleaning and drying instructions. Do not invent a wash temperature, detergent, treatment or conditioning routine from a generic article. Ask Strongarm if the label is unclear or missing.

Keep your question specific

When contacting us, include the article number, a photo of the label and the part you are concerned about. Tell us whether the question is about routine cleaning, contamination, a seam, a closure or a change in fit.

Know the limits of care

Cleaning does not prove that a damaged item is fit for service. Care guidance and performance documentation answer different questions; check both when needed.

For distributors

Plan your first Strongarm assortment.

Start with customer needs, then work through styles, sizes, packs and replenishment.

Start with the customers you already serve

Identify which products your customers ask for, the sizes they use and how they prefer to buy. A focused opening assortment is easier to explain and replenish than carrying every style immediately.

Use the stocked range as your reference

The core collection includes four glove styles, two jackets, three aprons and four sleeve styles. The public catalogue provides construction details, article numbers and carton packing so your team can compare the range.

Separate retail packs from cartons

The Rockstar driver is offered in single-pair, three-pair and twelve-pair options. Some sleeves also have multiple pack sizes. Wholesale orders require one full carton per size and SKU, with additional quantities in full-carton multiples. For Rockstar, one carton is 120 single pairs, 40 three-pair packs or 10 twelve-pair packs.

Agree the opening order with Strongarm

Discuss article numbers, sizes, quantities, current availability and delivery requirements. Wholesale prices are assigned after approval. Order each size and SKU in full-carton multiples; payment and delivery terms are agreed separately.

Add the extended range when there is a need

The made-to-order collection is shared with selected business customers after review. Request access with the products, quantities and timing you have in mind. Keep the stocked and made-to-order purchasing plans separate.
